There is a twist to this title, we are not going to look into the whole reason why something you have been praying for hasn’t materialized but we would look at scriptures in order to stay steadfast. In that way, you begin to mature spiritually in Christ.
That is, how can I still maintain the same heart of faith, gratitude, thanksgiving, joy and also doing the right things for God during trials and tribulations as I did when things were going smoothly.
First of all, fear of the unknown has to get out in Jesus name. Amen, you have the mind of Christ, you are not stagnant, neither are you weird or a failure.
Secondly, do not look to the left or the right (do not envy, compare yourself to other people’s progress). Your destiny is different from theirs and the appointed time for you to be blessed with what you want is coming.
Once this and a few other things do not control how you feel towards yourself, God and others, then you are good to go. I pray that the Holy Spirit opens your eyes to what you are about to read and give you more understanding in Jesus name. Amen
What are the things that I need to know in order to keep a heart that is steadfast unto the Lord regardless of my situation? Psalms 57:7 NIV
- Believe: John 6:47 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life, you need to trust what God says about you and who He sees you as, all that the Lord has for you and how he sees you are already in the Holy Bible. John 20:31 but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name. Ask him to lead you, you can put it on google “promises of God for me” that is another way you can find out, also believe them because it is His word and He does not lie.
- He is working in you: Philippians 2:13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Trust that He is working in you and you can do that in the place of prayer and praise. If it’s difficult to believe this, ask God to help you, He will surely listen to you and you must know that whatever He is doing in your life is for your good and those around you. There is this song that just came to me as I type this:
Humbly, I ask Thee to teach me Your will
While You are working, help me be still
‘Cos Satan is busy, God is real;
Order my steps in Your word
Please, order my steps in Your word
- I did not forget you: Isaiah 49:15-16 Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget,
I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.
God hasn’t forgotten about you in fact, He has seen everything you will be in life because he created you, he knows your weakness and strength, your life is a testimony and the fact you are alive shows he will bring you out of any troubles. Though your sorrows may last all through the night, remember your joy will come in the morning.
- Afflicted but it won’t prevail against me: Isaiah 43:2 When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. How amazing to see this promise that God says to you and I.
The promises of God for you is meant to strengthen your faith in Him and not weaken it. God told Abraham the plans and promise he has for him, it is recorded in the bible that Abraham’s faith grew stronger even when he did not see the promises come to fruition yet.
Romans 4:17-20 ERV
17 As the Scriptures say, “I have made you a father of many nations.” This is true before God, the one Abraham believed—the God who gives life to the dead and speaks of things that don’t yet exist as if they are real.
18 There was no hope that Abraham would have children, but Abraham believed in God and continued to hope. And that is why he became the father of many nations. As God told him, “You will have many descendants.” 19 Abraham was almost a hundred years old, so he was past the age for having children. Also, Sarah could not have children. Abraham was well aware of this, but his faith in God never became weak. 20 He never doubted that God would do what he promised. He never stopped believing. In fact, he grew stronger in his faith and just praised God.
My husband told me something this morning which is “Your Faith has to be your downpayment for your future”. Think deeply about this
Finally, I say this do not compare yourself with anyone’s progress in life, doing this will lead you down the road of anger, bitterness, un-contentment. Trust me, God has a big plan for you and it will be amazing beyond your expectations. Seek Him in all things and He will direct your steps, you were born to move from glory to glory both physically, spiritually and in all areas.
I end with this 1 Thessalonians 5:16,18 Rejoice at all times, Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
