How can I handle my child?

1p5This message is to parents who are dealing with children who throw tantrums at home and because of this behavior are frustrated, angry, upset and sometimes resolve to say or do some things that are wrong towards them. The question that might sometime come to our minds can be, How can I handle my kids for them to grow up as responsible individuals?

God has the answer and HE has given us a way we can train up our child to give us rest. Don’t give up on that child yet. Let us look into the Holy Bible;

Ephesians 6:4  Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.

This is what God tells us but to fully grasp this information highlighted, first of all, it is imperative for us to know that parents need to be dependent on God all their lives, listening for any bit of instruction in guiding the affairs of the home internally and externally and it ranges from training the child to setting a good example for them morally, taking care of the home etc.

However, I have come to see and understand that some parents tend to use the methods of training exerted on them as  kids on their own child as well and that breeds a cycle that continues from generation to generation, pardon me  I am not one to say all the methods used are bad but some of them practised tend to damage the child emotionally, psychologically, mentally etc.

God has the answer on how to train a child who might be classified as stubborn, naughty, disrespectful, rude, arrogant, prideful etc. There is no child God cannot handle, take your child to God and He will help you out, looking at the preceding verse Ephesians 6:1  Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. The highlighted verse tells us, children belong to the lord, Psalm 127:3 also says Children are indeed a heritage from the LORD, and the fruit of the womb is His reward.

The word Heritage can be defined as a special or individual possession; an allotted portion. Wow, isn’t it amazing dear parents that you really do not have to worry about the child that seems to make you uneasy or anxious about their ways but know this that the LORD owns the child, to God the child is a special possession and HE can teach you the steps, and give you instructions on how to train him/her.

Let us look at another scripture to put your mind at ease which can lead you to God in a heart of gratitude about your child Isaiah 54:13 All your children will be taught by the LORD, and great will be their peace. Yes!, great will be the peace of your children and they will also be taught by the lord, and there is this scripture I love to use when I feel overwhelmed with situations I cannot handle. Proverbs 21:1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the lord, as the rivers of water; He turns it to any place He will. This proves to us that God is in total control of all things and He rules over the affairs of a nation, man, your child too etc.

Dad and Mom rest in the assurance that God has got you covered, seek Him to give you wisdom on how to train your child. Proverbs 22:6 says Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Training up a child in the way he should go requires your knowledge o  Gods word, your dependence on who He is and your constant confession of who and what He is to your children. You have to study the word of God and ask the Lord to coo continually give you wisdom and I promise you He will not rebuke you for asking to know how your child can be trained.  I pray that we all as parents and parents to be will begin to depend more on God to build our homes, lead our wives, submit to our husbands and as well train our children well in Jesus name, Amen
